The Xiaomi Mi 6’s announcement is only a couple of weeks away, and some new info just surfaced. According to the new rumor, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launched in two variants, one variant will sport a flat display, while the other one will arrive with a curved display. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC is said to be fueling both of these devices, and this is, as many of you know, Qualcomm’s all-new flagship SoC which was introduced during CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
The source also claims that neither of these two variants will ship with two camera sensors on the back, and it seems like the variant with a curved display will be somewhat more powerful than the model which sports a flat display. The Xiaomi Mi 6 with a flat display will, allegedly, ship with 4GB of RAM, while the curved screen model will sport 6GB of RAM. The standard model with a flat display is said to cost 1,999 Yuan, while the curved display variant will be available for 2,499 Yuan, at least based on the provided info. That is more or less all the info that surfaced this time around, but thanks to some previous leaks, we do have some additional info as well. The trial production of the Mi 6 is expected to kick off this month, and the device is expected to launch during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona which begins at the end of next month and ends in March.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to look as a smaller variant of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, which probably means it will sport a physical home key below the display. That home button will probably double as a fingerprint scanner, and a 4,000mAh battery has also been mentioned in a recent rumor. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging will be a part of the package as well, and chances are that the phone’s back will be made out of glass, at least in the standard variant of the device. Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to come pre-installed on the Xiaomi Mi 6, and on top of it, we’ll get either MIUI 8 or MIUI 9 OS, we’ll see.
