The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has now been officially confirmed for the Indian market where the smartphone will become available for preorders on January 27. The company’s new Android device will launch in Black and Gold, priced at Rs. 36,900, which amounts to approximately $543. The Galaxy C9 Pro is expected to hit the shelves at some point by the second half of next month.
Last October, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro went down in the history as Samsung’s first smartphone to accommodate 6GB of RAM. A couple of reports from earlier this year hinted at a possible debut in India on January 18, and the smartphone has now been officially confirmed for the Indian market. As far as its specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is equipped with a generous 6-inch Super AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 75.5%. The device draws processing power from the Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 653 System-on-Chip (SOC) housing four high-performance Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 1.95GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores operating at up to 1.4GHz. The CPU in question is accompanied by the Adreno 510 graphics chip and 6GB of RAM. Storage-wise, users have 64GB of internal memory at their disposal, as well as a microSD card slot supporting up to 256GB of external memory. In the media department, the smartphone makes use of a 16-megapixel main camera coupled with a dual-LED flash, a 16-megapixel front-facing sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 and 1080p capabilities, as well as stereo speakers. Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy C9 Pro takes advantage of Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, and NFC.
Other features worth mentioning include a USB Type-C connector, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint recognition sensor embedded in the physical home button of the phone, and a non-removable battery boasting a capacity of 4,000mAh. The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, sprinkled with Samsung’s proprietary user interface elements. Not unlike other smartphones in the Galaxy C series, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is wrapped in a metal case and has been primarily designed as a smartphone aimed for multimedia consumption and mobile gaming. Regarding the latter, the Galaxy C9 Pro boasts Samsung’s Game Launcher, a hallmark of the Galaxy S7 series.
