The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) has now been benchmarked on Geekbench. This is one of the latest in the Samsung Galaxy J range for 2017 and naturally follows on from the Samsung Galaxy J line from 2016. While the benchmark does not provide too much in the way of new information, it does further confirm that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is nearing its release date, following the recent release of the Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series of smartphones earlier in the month.
The most interesting observation which can be made from the current benchmark listing is that the Galaxy J7 (2017) with model number SM-J727P was tested running Android 7.0 (Nougat). Which does largely lend support to the notion that at release, the Galaxy J7 (2017) will come running on Android 7.0. Besides the operating system, the benchmark does reveal that the Galaxy J7 (2017) comes packing 2GB RAM and will come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. As the benchmark below shows, the Galaxy J7 (2017) scored 889 on single-core performance and 4,200 on multi-core. Unfortunately, that is the extent of the information provided by the benchmark. Although previous information has suggested that the rest of the specs for the Galaxy J7 (2017) will include a 5.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, and in addition to the 2GB RAM and Snapdragon 625 processor, you can expect to find 16GB internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
In terms of the design, while few actual images have come through, towards the end of December renders became available which while not being official images, are said to be based on known specs and information and do provide a good oversight of how the device is likely to look. It is also worth noting that the Galaxy J7 (2017) is not the only J-series device that is expected to be announced soon, as the Galaxy J3 (2017) has also been doing the rounds and most recently was spotted gaining its Wi-Fi certification. As to be expected with the numerical difference, the Galaxy J3 should be a step-down in a number of departments when compared to the Galaxy J7, including the screen size, resolution, RAM count, and so on.
