These Galaxy S8 concept renders depict a very sleek design, and while they may be stylish, it’s also important to remember that these are concept renders that were created by a designer (King Waylee) and are not official Samsung press renders of the phone. The renders do seem to envision what the phone will look like to a fairly close degree though, at least on the rumors, considering the leaks that have already surfaced showing bits and pieces of the phone’s final design, so when Samsung does finally unveil their 2017 flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, it’s entirely possible that the design in these renders could be pretty close to the real thing.
The renders, which are shown off in a variety of different colors have similar traits to what’s been murmured in some of the previous rumors, such as Samsung choosing to leave out a physical home button on the device while also maximizing screen real estate by giving the two new upcoming phones some extremely thin bezels on the top and bottom of the phone’s front panel. In addition to adding the various elements of the display design based on rumors, the concept designs also show that the phones will have four physical buttons on the right and left sides of the phone, which would be the volume up and down keys on one side, along with a third button that could either be the power key or the button to activate Samsung’s Bixby A.I. assistant that has already been confirmed to be included with the device. The fourth button would end up being whatever wasn’t placed on the side with the volume keys.
With no physical home button the fingerprint sensor has to go somewhere, and it would seem that the designer has envisioned it being on the back of the device on the right side of the rear-facing camera sensor, while the LED flash and heart rate sensor module placement is to the left. The renders also show the device supporting USB Type-C and carrying a 3.5mm audio port on the bottom of the phone, along with a single bottom-facing speaker for audio. Although there has been no detail on colors for the phone yet, the concept renders show what the device would look like in Black, White, and what looks like Samsung’s more recently released Blue Coral color variant that was launched for the Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus were initially thought to be getting an announcement at Mobile World Congress next month, but it was later confirmed by Samsung’s Mobile Chief that they will not be unveiling the two phones at next month’s event. It is now rumored that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be unveiled on March 29th instead.
