Together with Roland, high-performance audio equipment manufacturer V-MODA has brought its new range of headphones at CES 2017, including three in-ear models and one over-ear design. The products carry the familiar monikers “Forza”, “Forza Metallo”, “Forza Metallo Wireless” and “Crossfade Wireless”, and are available for prices ranging from $100 up to $300.
Save for the exterior design, the V-MODA Forza and Forza Metallo share common characteristics including 5.8-milimeters micro, ultra-lightweight, high-performance drivers able to reproduce frequencies past 40kHz. Otherwise, the V-MODA Forza feature the so-called RemixRing allowing users to attach custom 3D printed caps for an extra touch of personalization, while the V-MODA Forza Metallo are wrapped in CNC-forged aluminum casting delivering “unrivaled, balanced sound” along with “unparalleled 3D Soundstage”, according to the manufacturer. The aforementioned earbuds are connected to a DiamondBack ballistic ultra-reinforced tangle-free cable said to be 20 times more durable than the industry standard, which passes through a 3-button microphone. Both the Forza and Forza Metallo are rated sweat and water-resistant, and ship with four sets of ergonomic BLISS 3.0 (Bass Level Isolating Soft Silicone) tips that should offer natural noise reduction and “ultimate comfort”. The third in-ear headphone model – the V-MODA Forza Metallo Wireless – connects through Bluetooth and features 5.8-milimeter micro ultra-lightweight hi-resolution drivers, wrapped in CNC-forged aluminum casings. Overall, they offer the same exterior design with RemixRings for 3D printed accessories as the Forza and Forza Metallo, except they adopt wireless connectivity.
Lastly, building upon the “legendary Crossfade M-100 signature sound”, the V-MODA Crossfade Wireless over-ear headphones connect through Bluetooth to up to two sources and have a range of 10 meters. They offer enough battery life for up to 12 hours of wireless music playback, and the battery can be quick-charged for 30 minutes to provide more than 3 hours of playback. Furthermore, the Crossfade Wireless can be used in wired mode for zero latency when needed, they support Hybrid Wireless + Wired mode, and can also be connected to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controllers. As far as pricing goes, the V-MODA Forza costs $100, the Forza Metallo is available for $130, and the Forza Metallo Wireless has a price tag of $170. On the other hand, the on-ear V-MODA Crossfade Wireless is available for $300 in Gunmetal, Rouge, Phantom Chrome, and White Silver colors.
