Xiaomi Teaser May Hint At White Mi MIX For CES

Xiaomi’s Mi MIX is quite a unique looking device with a sleek design, and the buzz on Weibo surrounding a new CES teaser from Xiaomi points to the possibility that those who have longed to see it officially hit the streets in white might just get their wish. The teaser image in question indicates a new Mi product launch at CES, and features text intertwining the words black and white. While such imagery is probably about as vague as a handset maker could get for a product reveal teaser, speculation is running wild that what’s being teased is the official launch of the Xiaomi Mi MIX in white, as seen in a pair of leaks, a month or so after the handset launched and a little bit before launch.

Since a white version of the Mi MIX first hit the internet before the device was officially released, people expected it to be available at launch right alongside the black version that was actually released. With this not being the case and a new leak showing the device in the wild, the missing white Mi MIX became a bit of a buzz topic around the web, especially since the device had already managed to cause a stir with just one color. Given all of those factors and how ambiguous Xiaomi is being with the teaser image, the assumption that we’ll be seeing a white Mi MIX unveiled at CES seems like a natural logical leap. It helps that the Mi MIX seems to have shown up briefly at a Chinese online store, though it was apparently not up for sale to the public.

All of the evidence seems to point toward a white Mi MIX making its way to store shelves. Still, speculation is speculation, and nobody should be expecting to get their hands on a white version of the phone any time soon, given the scarcity and high price of even the standard black model. As a reminder, the phone sports top notch specs to match its one of a kind design; a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU, the same processor found in Google’s Pixel phones, sits underneath the 6.4 inch, 2,560 by 1,440 pixel display, and can be paired up with either 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, or 6GB of RAM and a massive 256GB of internal storage, depending on which variant you buy.
