ZTE really seems to be on a roll lately. The China-based company operating out of Shenzen is all but unknown in the United States, aside from the few low-budget or mid-range devices it has released there. However, the company is well known on a global scale for its telecommunications equipment, mobile devices, and networking. On Jan. 6th, the company swept four awards at CES. Whatever misgivings exist about ZTE, it is doing very well in 2017 and certainly isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
Earning several awards at CES is no easy task. This year, ZTE was presented with the awards for Top 10 Brands from China, Global Top 50 CE Brands, Global Top 20 Smart Connected Devices Brands, and Global Top 15 Smartphone Brands. Internation Data Group (IDG) is responsible for the rewards and is granting awards this year to companies that have “demonstrated excellence in the ever-changing and ever-competitive consumer electronics market.” Senior Vice President of ZTE Corporation and CEO of EMEA and APAC for ZTE Mobile Devices, Jacky Zhang, attributes the four awards and the company’s success this year to the release of two device series. The devices in question are ZTE’s AXON 7 series – including the AXON 7 and the brand new ZTE Blade V8 and Blade V8 Pro. The company has been ranked in the top three by the World Intellectual Property Organization over 6 years for its patent filings.
Zhang says that the company is proud to be named a top performer by IDG and that ZTE is working hard to build and deliver devices that really connect with a wide range of customers. The Blade V8 and Blade V8 Pro were announced this year at CES. In addition to the Blade V8 and Blade V8 Pro, ZTE also showcased its latest addition to the AXON 7 series, the AXON 7Max. The AXON 7MAX has a larger display – featuring 3D technology – and a bigger battery than previous devices in the series. The AXON 7 series is available unlocked in the US and should work with all major carriers. However, there is no word yet as to whether or when the new, more premium Blade V8 or Blade V8 Pro will make it to the US market.
