ARCHOS Unveils Two New Android Nougat-Based Smartphones

ARCHOS has just unveiled two new smartphones in London, the ARCHOS 50 Graphite and the ARCHOS 55 Graphite. ARCHOS will showcase these two devices at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) which is starting really soon, so those of you who are in Barcelona, or will be, can check them out. That being said, these two devices are actually the company’s budget offerings, the ARCHOS 50 Graphite is an entry-level smartphone, while the ARCHOS 55 Graphite is a low-to-mid-range handset.

Both of these smartphones will ship with Android Nougat, and come with a dual camera setup on their backs. Both devices feature 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear-facing cameras, while a 5-megapixel shooter is placed on the front side of both of these devices. Both devices also come with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a Type-C USB port which is placed on the bottom. The ARCHOS 50 Graphite comes with a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. We still don’t know what SoC is fueling the ARCHOS 50 Graphite, though, it’s even possible that ARCHOS opted to use the same SoC in both of these phones. The ARCHOS 55 Graphite, on the other hand, is somewhat more powerful than its sibling, it sports a 5.5-inch fully laminated 720p (1280 x 720) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. This smartphone packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The device is fueled by the MT6737 64-bit quad-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, and there are two SIM card slots available here. A 3,000mAh battery is also a part of the ARCHOS 55 Graphite package, and you are basically getting a ton of Google’s Nougat features here, as the build of Android used on these two devices is almost stock.

ARCHOS also mentioned that the availability and specifications for these two phones might differ from one country to the other, we’ll get far more info when it comes to both specs and availability in June, when the company is planning to release these two phones. In any case, the company will showcase these two phones at MWC 2017, as already mentioned, so chances are we’ll be able to get some hands-on time with them soon. It’s also worth mentioning that the pricing of these two phones will start at €130, says the company.
