ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom's Launch In The US Delayed Until Q2

ASUS has just confirmed that the ZenFone 3 Zoom’s launch in the US has been delayed until Q2. In addition to this, the company added that the delay occurred because they’re trying to include better specs in the device, in order to improve it overall. ASUS North America confirmed the news through their official account on Twitter while replying to a user which is waiting for the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom to be released, as he’s interested in buying one.

As some of you probably already know, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom has been announced back in January during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The device has also been introduced in Taiwan about 10 days ago, and consumers are waiting for it to launch in the US. As it turns out, ASUS plans to ship a somewhat different smartphone to the consumers in the US, as it will come with more powerful specs. That being said, the ZenFone 3 Zoom which has been made official sports a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB / 128GB of expandable internal storage. This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 5,000mAh battery is also a part of the package. The device ships with a dual camera setup, there are two 12.3-megapixel shooters (25mm and 59mm lenses, f/1.7 and f/2.8 aperture) on its back, while a 13-megapixel camera can be found on the device’s front side. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this phone, while ASUS ZenUI 3.0 is placed on top of it.

That being said, this new model that ASUS is planning to launch in the US will ship with a somewhat more powerful specs it seems. Chances are that the device will retain its 5.5-inch fullHD display, and a beefy 5,000mAh battery, but might ship with a somewhat more powerful processor, maybe the Snapdragon 652? The phone will probably retain 4GB of RAM and the camera sensors on its back will remain intact as well, it makes sense. All in all, the US variant of this smartphone will become official in the next couple of months, so stay tuned for that.
