Gionee A1 Surfaces On GFXBench With 4GB Of RAM, Helio P10

The Gionee A1 has just surfaced on GFXBench, following its listing on Geekbench which surfaced two days ago. GFXBench’s information more or less confirms what we’ve seen the other day, and this smartphone will launch during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona, along with the Gionee A1 Plus. Gionee actually confirmed this via an official teaser which the company released earlier this month.

Now, thanks to GFXBench, we now have some more info regarding Gionee A1’s specifications. The device willi sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. We still do not know whether it will offer a microSD card expansion, but it’s quite possible. MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel the Gionee A1, and that is MediaTek’s mid-range processor which comes with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPu for graphics. A 13-megapixel camera will be placed on the back of this smartphone, even though GFXBench reports a 12-megapixel shooter. Why is that? Well, GFXBench often makes this mistake when it comes to cameras, same goes for this phone’s front-facing shooter as well, according to GFXBench it will sport a 15-megapixel snapper, but that won’t happen, you can expect to see a 16-megapixel camera placed on the front side of this smartphone. That being said, the Gionee A1 will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with Gionee’s custom UI placed on top of it.

Now, in addition to what GFXBench reported, this smartphone will probably also ship with a 4,000mAh battery, at least according to rumors. That is more or less all the info that we have at the moment, and we really don’t have any particular info when it comes to the Gionee A1 Plus which will also launch alongside the Gionee A1. Based on its name, however, it will be quite similar to the Gionee A1, but it might be either bigger or more powerful than the Gionee A1, maybe even both, we’ll see. In any case, Gionee’s press conference begins at 11am on February 27th in Barcelona, so we’ll know everything we need to know about these two phones once the company introduces them, stay tuned.
