Google has made Tilt Brush available for the Oculus Rift as of today, allowing those who own the VR headset to get in on the fun of painting anything their hearts desire in a virtual space. Tilt Brush was first introduced with the HTC Vive as an exclusive title but Google wanted more people to have access to the app, so they expanded its compatibility and released a version for the Oculus Rift with just the right amount of adjustments that make it work for the platform and the Oculus Touch controllers.
In addition to tweaking things for the Rift hardware, Google has also refined Tilt Brush by improving some of its features. This includes an ability to resize paintings so they can be easier to see, which in turn can also make things easier change if there is anything that needs to be altered, added, or removed. Alongside resizing your work it’s also now possible to rotate it so if things would be easier to see from a different angle you can simply flip the painting upside down or just to the side if it’s more suitable.
Among the handful of changes to Tilt Brush that Google is introducing with the Oculus Rift version, one that is sure to please users is the way interaction have been changed for the Oculus Touch controllers. If you’re unsure what each button on the controllers do, you can easily find out by simply resting your fingers on the button you’re about to press and this will bring up details about that particular button function. This way you’ll never press the wrong button and potentially mess up your work.
