Honor V9 Flagship Gets Announced With 6GB Of RAM, Kirin 960

Following the announcement of the Honor 8 Lite in China today, Honor had also introduced the rumored Honor V9. The Honor V9 is essentially the company’s flagship, and the device that is supposed to launched under the Honor 8 Pro name for the global market. In any case, the Honor V9 is a metal-clad smartphone which sports two cameras on the back, and comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Both physical keys are placed on the right-hand side of this smartphone, the power / lock key, and the volume rocker buttons which are placed above it.

The Honor V9 features a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Kirin 960 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is the same processor that ships with the Huawei Mate 9 flagship. There are two 12-megapixel camera sensors (f/2.2 aperture) placed on the back of the Honor V9, and according to Honor, they’re capable of taking great images in low light, plus really nice images with bokeh effect. The company says that these sensors come with improved black and white sensor, which lets in 3 times more light, and that helps with low light photography immensely. Honor also mentioned that this phone is capable of taking 3D creative photos, which you can use to make 3D prints. A 4,000mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable, while you’re getting fast charging here as well. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Honor V9, and on top of it you’re getting Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 skin.

The Honor V9 comes in several variants, one 4GB RAM model, and two 6GB RAM variants. The 4GB RAM model of the Honor V9 ships with 64GB of native storage, and it costs 2,599 Yuan ($377) in China. The Honor V9 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is priced at 2,999 Yuan ($436), while the most expensive variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB costs 3,499 Yuan ($508). The device will go on sale in China on February 28th starting at 10AM, for those of you who are interested in purchasing it.
