HTC 10 units in India are now receiving the jump to Android 7.0 Nougat. This news comes after HTC India posted a tweet on their official Twitter account, stating “Android 7.0 Nougat update rolled out for #HTC10 in India”. The update which comes with the software version 2.41.400.5, is pretty big in size, weighing in at 1.2GB. Coming along with the update is the jump to Android 7.0 Nougat, system enhancements, and also the latest security patch from Google, which should be the February 2017 Security Patch. While Android 7.0 Nougat will certainly be bringing new features to the HTC 10, these features aren’t detailed in the changelog, for the time being.
If you own a HTC 10 in India, you should be receiving the OTA update in the coming days or so. As it is an OTA update, a notification prompting you to download and install the latest update will be sent to you. However, if you can’t wait for the notification prompt, you may manually check to see if the update is indeed ready for your device. All you have to do is head to Settings, and tap on System Updates. Once doing so, tap on HTC Software Update, and the update should appear if it is indeed ready for download. As this update may take a while to download, it is advisable to charge your HTC 10 while updating it. HTC recommends users to download the Android 7.0 Nougat using a Wi-Fi network, as downloading the update using mobile data, may incur additional costs.
