The HTC U Ultra is coming to India, the company will announce their new flagship smartphone in the country tomorrow, on Tuesday. HTC has confirmed this by releasing an official teaser through Twitter by inviting media to attend the event. This event will be held at 3:30PM (local time) in New Delhi, and will be streamed live through Facebook, says HTC. HTC’s teaser confirms that the HTC U Ultra is coming, but there’s no word on the HTC U Play, which is quite interesting considering HTC usually brings its more affordable offerings to India as well. It is possible that the company will announce both phones, though, we’ll see.
That being said, HTC originally launched this smartphone last month, alongside the HTC U Play. The HTC U Ultra is one of the most powerful smartphones currently available in the market, as it is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, and comes with top of the line specs overall. The HTC U Ultra sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) mail display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of expandable internal storage. This smartphone is made out of metal and glass, while it also comes with a secondary display which is placed above the phone’s main panel, and that secondary panel is 2.05 inches big, and has a resolution of 1040 x 160 pixels. A 12-megapixel OIS snapper is placed on the back of the HTC U Ultra, and a 16-megapixel shooter can be found on the front side of this smartphone. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the HTC U Ultra, and on top of it, you’re getting HTC’s Sense UI. This phone also comes with high-res audio, and some AI features that HTC developed for their smartphones, and the HTC U Ultra pioneers it. All in all, the HTC U Ultra is a really powerful smartphone, though some people claim HTC should have introduced it months ago, as the Snapdragon 835-powered devices are right around the corner, so the Snapdragon 821 is basically Qualcomm’s flagship SoC for 2016. In any case, the device is coming to India, and it certainly won’t be cheap, but we still don’t know how much will it cost, stay tuned.
