Leaked Video Shows Galaxy S8 & Galaxy S8 Plus In Black

A newly leaked video that emerged on Weibo on Sunday shows the alleged prototypes of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung’s upcoming pair of Android flagships. Both devices are shown in black variants and seemingly sport some kind of protective cases. The video also shows the Always On Display (AOD) of the Galaxy S8 Plus and indicates that neither the Galaxy S8 nor the Galaxy S8 Plus will feature a physical home button. As the aforementioned cases don’t have an opening for a rear fingerprint scanner beneath the camera and given how both devices also lack a home button, it seems that Samsung is truly opting to ship its upcoming flagship duo with a fingerprint sensor that’s integrated beneath the display like it was previously rumored. Of course, provided that this video is legit. In any case, all 34 seconds of footage are available for viewing below so you can judge the newly leaked clip for yourself.

Neither device shown in the video features any sort of Samsung branding on the front but seeing how their backs are covered, there’s no way of knowing whether the handsets are marked on the back. If Samsung’s previous flagship devices are any indication, they likely are. Apart from this video, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus were the subjects of many headlines in the last 24 hours after the South Korean tech giant announced an exclusive unveiling event that’s scheduled to take place on March 29 in New York City. While neither device was obviously mentioned by name, it’s understood that Samsung will use that opportunity to unveil the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus.

The company’s upcoming pair of Android flagships is rumored to ship with the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 system-on-chip (SoC) in certain territories, as well as 4GB of RAM and at least 64GB of internal storage. Galaxy S8 Plus is expected to feature a 6.2-inch screen that’s actually a 6.1-inch one once its rounded edges are accounted for, while the display diagonal of its smaller sibling is believed to be around 5.7 inches in length. Both devices are rumored to hit the market in the second half of April.
