Moto G5 specs and pricing have leaked with a few renders this morning which all but reveal specific details about the phone. The Moto G5 has leaked in images before so this isn’t the first time that pictures of the phone have surfaced, but these appear to be Lenovo’s official press renders of the device that you’ll see in promotional ads around the web, which makes them all the more convincing. On top of that the design looks just like the phone design seen in most of the leaked images that have come up before today, so this could more or less be considered an unofficial confirmation of what Lenovo will show off at the press event during Mobile World Congress at the end of this month.
According to the leak, the Moto G5 will come running on Android 7.0 Nougat so the software will be mostly up to date, and this is something which was already likely suspected as the device will be new for this year and Lenovo and Motorola have been pretty good about the software side of things. The Moto G4 series of devices for example launched with Android Marshmallow so it would stand to reason that they would end up doing the same thing for the Moto G5 series this year.
Aside from Android 7.0 Nougat, the Moto G5 is said to come with a 5-inch Full HD display for the screen size and resolution, and it will come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space, though it’s also likely that Lenovo and Motorola will be offering another storage and RAM option as they did the same thing for the Moto G4 series last year. That being said, 2GB and 32GB is likely to be the base option. Today’s leak also states that the phone will come with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, along with 2800mAh battery, a front mounted fingerprint sensor, and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. The leak also alleges that the cost of the phone will be $699, though this is almost certainly incorrect as last year’s model of the Moto G4 started around $200, with the Moto G4 Plus and 64GB of storage costing only $250. It’s also worth considering that a recent rumor from February 13th suggests that the Moto G5 will cost less than the Moto G4 did at launch, so expect a fairly low price when the phone is available.
