Nubia has started sending out invites for this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Interestingly enough, the company did not announce a separate event, they highlighted only MWC 2017 dates in their invitation, while they also note what booth will Nubia occupy at MWC 2017. Nubia announced their MWC 2017 presence on their official Weibo (Chinese social network) page, and you can see all the details in the provided image.
You will be able to visit Nubia’s booth at MWC 2017 between February 27th and March 2nd, and in case you plan on going to Barcelona, you’ll be able to find Nubia at booth 7A11, Hall 7, Fira Gran Barcelona Via. In the provided image, you’ll get to see a ‘What’s NU” caption, which could hint at a new product launch, but it’s so subtle that it’s basically impossible to guess what is Nubia trying to say. At the moment, it is unknown what will Nubia announce at this year’s Mobile World Congress considering we really did not see all that many Nubia-branded smartphone leaks lately, though it is possible that the company plans to re-announce one of their smartphones for more markets or something of the sort. The company will, almost certainly, announce at least one completely new product, though, and that product could be the Nubia Prague S2. The Nubia Prague S was announced in China back in January 2015, and was shown off during last year’s Mobile World Congress, so it is possible that the phone’s successor might land in Barcelona this year. Unfortunately, though, we really do not have any information about this device at the moment, as we did not see any such leaks or rumors lately.
The Nubia Z11 is the company’s most powerful smartphone at the moment, and it was announced back in June 2016, so it is quite unlikely that Nubia plans to announce its successor at MWC 2017. Not only is the timing not exactly right, but the company did not announce a separate press conference at the tradeshow, which suggests we won’t see a high-profile announcement from Nubia during the tradeshow. In any case, stay tuned, we’ll make sure to let you know as soon as Nubia releases more info.
