Sony has added Sub-Profile creation to their PlayStation Vue Mobile application as part of the latest update. While this is definitely a great addition for those who like to keep things as organized as humanly possible, it isn’t the only change that was added in this version of the app, which should push users to version 2.0.1.703 post update. Alongside the sub-profile creation, PlayStation Vue Mobile also has a new way to log users into their profiles automatically, which, is probably one of the best features ever for those who like to shave a few seconds off anywhere they can.
Since PlayStation Vue Mobile is meant to be used on a mobile device, it stands to reason that users will sometimes be streaming content from the app while connected to cellular network data. Anyone who has used their device to stream even one movie on Netflix via their cell network data will already know how much data can be eaten up by this particular usage, and Sony has added in a way to alert users that they may be reaching their data limits for their carrier, as there will now be a warning that is sent to users that they might go over. This should allow those who subscribe to PlayStation Vue to curb their streaming if they’re close to their limits, and it also simply serve as awareness to watch the data use going forward.
Alongside these few new features for the app, PlayStation Vue Mobile also now has a program guide. Think of this like a TV guide but more tailored for the PlayStation Vue experience, and this is something which is sure to delight users given that they have multiple networks they partner with for live TV broadcasts. Needless to say, a program guide will allow users to always know what’s playing on what network through their PlayStation Vue subscription. The program guide will also change likely based on which package users subscribe to as they have multiple packages and each one will offer something the previous packages do not. Lastly, there is now also an up next countdown timer. There’s not much to it as what it offers is just how long you have until the show that’s coming on next begins to play. If you stream content through Netflix, you’ll already be familiar with what this looks like as they offer the same thing. PlayStation Vue also offers an Android TV version of the app, but this doesn’t look to have been updated with the same feature changes.
