HTC has posted a video on the company’s official YouTube channel, showcasing HTC fans giving their first impressions of the company’s latest handset, the HTC U Ultra. According to HTC, the video was shot in Los Angeles where fans were invited to try out the new smartphone.
When fans were asked for their first impressions, all but praise was given to the device. Some fans mentioned that the design of the device is pretty great and it feels like a larger version of the HTC 10, which is HTC’s current flagship smartphone. Other fans stated that the HTC U Ultra feels light and great in the hand, for such a big device. Most of the fans loved the Sapphire Blue version of the device. One fan mentioned that the rear camera on the device is pretty good and is able to snap sharp images. HTC has been trying to promote the HTC U Ultra via YouTube videos posted on the company’s channel. Previously, the company advertised the device by producing a video which demonstrated HTC U Ultra’s night mode. It should be noted that the latest device from HTC is not the company’s 2017 flagship smartphone.
The HTC U Ultra is a pretty beefy smartphone in terms of specs. For starters, the device packs a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super LCD 5 display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There is also a variant which sports Sapphire Glass instead of Gorilla Glass 5, making it much more resistant to scratches. The device also comes with a secondary display which HTC calls ‘Dual Display’. It measures 2.05-inches and packs a resolution of 160 x 1040. Under the hood, 64GB of internal storage can be found, while the Sapphire Glass variant gets 128GB of internal storage. Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor. For optics, the HTC U Ultra comes with a 12-megapixel HTC UltraPixel 2 camera on its rear coupled with OIS. The front side of the device gets a 16-megapixel camera. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery, which is quite small for such a large device. However, it supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, allowing users to quickly juice up the battery. Software wise, HTC Sense UI can be found on top of Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
