Xiaomi has launched its latest product on crowdfunding platform Mijia, and it comes in the form of the Populele. The Populele is Xiaomi’s latest addition to its Mi Home ecosystem and the latest device from the company is a smart ukulele. With the Populele, you will be able to learn how to play the ukulele through a companion app, and you won’t need to get a music teacher to guide you. Just like Xiaomi’s other products, the Populele is priced affordably. The smart musical instrument costs 399 Yuan ($58), and it has already achieved 397 percent of its crowdfunding goal on Mijia. The Populele is expected to be shipped to customers beginning on March 28th, though it is unknown whether the device will be made available globally at the moment.
As for the specs of this smart musical instrument from Xiaomi, the Populele is made from Indonesian Rosewood which is said to be of high quality. The strings on the device are Italian Aquila nylon strings, and the Populele weighs in pretty light, coming in at a mere 500 grams. On the fingerboard, 72 LED lights are built in and powering the device is a 800mAh rechargeable battery which is built-in, and it can charged via a micro USB cable. To pair with the companion app, the Populele comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE, allowing you to pair the instrument to your smartphone. The companion app will work with smartphones running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and above. This app is one of the main features of the Populele as it is able to teach you how to play the device. In order to play the Populele, simply follow the LED lights which light up on the fingerboard of the Populele. You can learn over 100 songs which are available in-app and it has been stated that only 5 minutes is needed to allow you to be able to play the Populele.
