The Xiaomi Mi 5c has just surfaced on GFXBench. The Xiaomi Mi 5c is the company’s upcoming mid-ranger which has been leaking for months now, and this listing has revealed most of its specifications. As expected, these are mid-range specs we’re looking at here, and they more or less confirm what we’ve been seeing for the last couple of months, as the phone’s specifications did leak a number of times along with its design.
According to GFXBench, the Xiaomi Mi 5c will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Some rumors suggested that the phone will ship with a 5.1-inch display, like the Xiaomi Mi 5, though most recent rumors did report a 5.5-inch display, so GFXBench only confirmed that info. The device will be fueled by MediaTek’s octa-core processor, at least based on the phone’s GPU, which is quite interesting considering that this phone was supposed to ship with Xiaomi’s Pinecone processor. The Mali-T860 GPU suggests that we’ll see MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core chip here, not Xiaomi’s Pinecone processor, at least it seems that way, but we still don’t know what GPU will the Pinecone SoC ship with, so… we’ll have to wait for the company to release some official info before we can be certain. A 12-megapixel camera will be placed on the back of the Xiaomi Mi 5c, according to GFXBench, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be available on its front side. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, according to the source, and Xiaomi’s MIUI OS will be available on top of it. This piece of info seems a bit wrong, Xiaomi still did not start pushing Android 7.0 Nougat to their devices, only the beta build is currently available, so it’s kind of hard to believe that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, mainly because the device is expected to land really soon.
That is more or less it, at least as far as its main specs are concerned, though GFXBench also says that NFC won’t be a part of the package, which is interesting. The Xiaomi Mi 5c leaked with and without a physical home key, so we’re still not sure what will it look like, but if rumors are to be believed, it will be made out of metal. To make things even more interesting, let’s just say that the Xiaomi Mi 5c paid a visit to Geekbench quite recently, and that listing also said that Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be a part of the package, so who knows what we’ll get in the end.
