ZTE Unveils Blade V8 Mini & Blade V8 Lite Smartphones At MWC

Along with showcasing their Google Daydream-ready smartphone, the ZTE Axon 7, ZTE has decided to unveil two more devices, the ZTE Blade V8 Mini and Blade V8 Lite. Now, the ZTE Axon 7 is not exactly a new smartphone, but it did receive Android Nougat update, and is now Daydream-ready. On the flip side, the Blade V8 Mini and Blade V8 Lite are completely new smartphones. The company wanted to make sure to emphasize that these two smartphones come with a host of features for young people, so it’s quite obvious what market are they aiming at with these smartphones. The two phones will initially become available in a number of markets in Europe and Asia Pacific, said ZTE.

Both of these smartphones are made out of metal, and they’re actually quite similar in terms of the design. Both devices sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and ship with Android Nougat. That being said, let’s take a look at the ZTE Blade V8 Mini first, shall we. This smartphone sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 435 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, while it comes with a 2,800mAh non-removable battery. There are two camera snappers on the back of this smartphone, 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras, while a 5-megapixel shooter can be found on the front side of this smartphone, and it is actually flanked by a front-facing LED flash. This phone offers 4G LTE connectivity, while it measures 143.5 x 70 x 8.9mm.

The ZTE Blade V8 Lite, on the other hand, also features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, and ships with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this device, and a 2,500mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. An 8-megapixel shooter can be found on the back of the Blade V8 Lite, while a 5-megapixel camera lies on its front side. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included here, as it is on the Blade V8 Mini. This smartphone also offers 4G LTE connectivity, while it measures 143 x 71 x 8.0mm.
