[UPDATED]ZTE Unveils SD835-Powered 'Gigabit Phone' At MWC 2017

ZTE has just unveiled the company’s ‘Gigabit Phone’ at MWC 2017, a device that the company teased quite recently. Now, first and foremost, it is worth mentioning that the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor is fueling this smartphone, though ZTE did not really release any detailed spec info when it comes to this smartphone. ZTE did, however, focus on the Gigabit Phone’s extremely fast internet capabilities which are its main feature, more or less. In any case, read on.

The ZTE Gigabit Phone is the world’s first smartphone which can reach speeds up to 1Gbps, says ZTE. This phone is equipped with ZTE’s very own Pre5G Giga+ MBB solution, and the company basically demonstrated this phone’s download speeds at MWC 2017. Thanks to the Snapdragon 835, this smartphone has access to a Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, it utilizes a combination of carrier aggregation, 4×4 MIMO antenna technology and 256-QAM modulation in order to hit LTE download speeds that are really fast. Now, add ZTE’s 5G and Pre5G Giga+ MBB solution on top of that, and you get a phone which is three times as powerful at improving data processing capability in the current network.

ZTE claims that such download speeds will improve users’ smartphone experience quite a bit, as it will allow them to utilize instant cloud storage, 360-degree panoramic VR video, extremely fast cache, ultra Hi-Fi music and movies, instant APP, and so on. “With the new device, the way people stay connected will be changed forever,” said ZTE. Interestingly enough, ZTE did not really talk much about a smartphone equipped with this technology, despite the fact they basically announced it. They put all focus on their new Pre5G Giga+ MBB technology and we’re still in the dark as far as the device itself is concerned. In any case, if you’d like to check out what ZTE has to offer at this year’s MWC, feel free to visit the company at 3F30, Hall 3, Fira Gran Via in Barcelona.
