Three new Galaxy S8 real life images have just popped up, along with a hands-on video from which they were taken. This content comes from China, and the hands-on video is actually over 6 minutes long, so you can get a really good look at the Galaxy S8. Do keep in mind that this video comes from Youku, which is a Chinese video streaming site, and even though we’ve embedded this clip down below, you might have issues running it if you don’t have flash activated, so keep that in mind.
In any case, the person who is handling the phone in this video first shows off the phone a bit, and then grabs a ruler in order to measure it. It turns out that the phone is 157mm long, while it measures 73mm in width, and is 8mm thick. This is the Midnight Black variant of the Galaxy S8 here, by the way, and you can clearly see the phone’s curved display, rear-facing fingerprint scanner, its main camera, LED flash and a heart rate sensor. On the bottom of the device, you’ll notice a Type-C USB port, phone’s loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can also check out all of its physical keys in this video, from the power / lock key on the right side, to the volume up, volume down and ‘Bixby’ physical keys on the left. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the Galaxy S8 in action here, as the display never turns on, the phone seems to be turned off here, but you at least get a good look at the device’s hardware.
Now, the Galaxy S8 will be announced on March 29th in New York and London, Samsung actually confirmed that last month. This smartphone will be made out of metal and glass, and the Galaxy S8 Plus will almost certainly launch alongside its smaller sibling, and sport the very same design. The Galaxy S8 will ship with a 5.8-inch 2960 x 1440 WQHD+ Super AMOLED display, which will be curved, 4GB of RAM and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera. Depending on where you live, you’ll be able to get either the Snapdragon 835-powered Galaxy S8 unit, or the Exynos 8895-powered Galaxy S8 handset. The phone is coming next Wednesday, and while we wait, you’re free to take a look at our Galaxy S8 pre-launch device page where you’ll find plenty of Galaxy S8 info.
