Almost bezel-less smartphones seem to be in style these days, and one such device just surfaced, a new Sharp-branded smartphone. Sharp is a Japan-based company which introduced a number of rather interesting-looking, almost bezel-less smartphones to date. This company actually inspired Xiaomi to release the Xiaomi Mi MIX, at least based on its design, and the Sharp Aquos Crystal which launched back in 2014 did not sport any bezel above the display, or on its sides. That was the first such smartphone to hit the market, and was followed by a couple of more devices. Well, it seems like Sharp is getting ready to release yet another, sleek-looking handset, read on.
According to the source, the pictured device is actually a new variant of Sharp’s Aquos Crystal smartphone, though we still don’t know what exactly will this phone be called, maybe the Aquos Crystal 3? In any case, this phone also sports zero bezel on its sides or above its display, while its chin is considerably smaller this time around. The phone will also sport a light strip below the display it seems, is this its LED notification light? Well, it’s possible. Interestingly enough, this smartphone includes a fingerprint scanner as well, and it’s placed in the lower right corner of this device, right next to the phone’s front-facing camera. Now, you also get to take a look at the back side of this phone, and as you can see, its back side is curved, while you’ll also notice the device’s rear-facing camera there. This camera comes with an LED flash, which is placed around it, while a laser autofocus is located next to the camera itself.
We still do not know when will this smartphone launch, nor what specifications will it pack in. Do keep in mind that we’re not even sure if this handset is in the pipeline or not, it is possible that this is just a concept render or something of the sort, but it looks real enough, and the source claims that it is coming soon. Now, if this will be a new ‘Aquos Crystal’ handset, then it will probably ship with mid-range specifications. Chances are that the phone will be available in Japan only, though, but we hope that won’t be the case.
