Sharp Aquos Crystal

Sharp Aquos Crystal Information:

The Sharp Aquos Crystal was announced on August 17th, 2014, and was later released for Japan on August 29th, and in mid-October for Sprint, and Sprint MVNO's exclusively. The Sharp Aquos Crystal is the first Aquos device to come to the U.S. market, and sports some of the thinnest bezels of any current smartphone. It comes in two variants with different sized screens, with the original Sharp Aquos Crystal and the yet to be released Sharp Aquos Crystal X that comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, and carries a fairly decent set of specs and hardware. It even sports premium quality audio with speakers from Harman/Kardon to give the user a better listening experience, something we also saw from one of the Sprint versions of the HTC One M8.

For specs, the Sharp Aquos Crystal sports a 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 720 1280 resolution and 294 ppi. On the back it carries an 8MP camera with auto-focus and LED Flash, and on the front it carries a 1.2MP camera. On the inside it uses a Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, with an Adreno 305 GPU running the graphics. It carries 8GB of internal storage space with expandable storage up to an additional 128GB via the microSD card slot, and has 1.5GB of RAM. It supports 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks, and for connectivity it supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS. It runs Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box and is powered by 2040 mAh battery.

Sharp Aquos Crystal Editor Rating:

The Sharp Aquos Crystal looks to be a solid offering from Sharp as the first Aquos handset to come to the U.S., and should make for a great option for those on Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, or Sprint Prepaid plans. The large screen and extremely thin bezels give it a fantastic design and the phone itself is thin as well which should make it easy to fit in pockets or bags. The 8GB of internal storage can also be built upon with a large microSD card.
