Analyst: Chinese Galaxy S8 Variant To Ship With 6GB Of RAM

Chinese variant of the Samsung Galaxy S8 could ship with 6GB of RAM, at least according to a new rumor. This information comes from Kevin Wang, a China-based analyst which works as a Research Director over at IHS. In addition to that, he said that the international variant of the company’s upcoming flagship will ship with 4GB of RAM, just like a number of rumors / leaks suggested.

Now, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S8 on March 29 internationally, but a Chinese variant of the phone will probably be announced during a separate event a bit later, at least that’s what the company did in the past. It is also quite likely that a Chinese model will ship with the company’s Exynos 8895 SoC, instead of the Snapdragon 835 which is expected to fuel the device in the US and some other markets. Last year’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagships were fueled by the Exynos 8890 in China, in case you were wondering. Samsung had already confirmed that the Galaxy S8 will arrive on March 29 during the company’s New York event, and the company even released a dedicated app for it, it’s called ‘Unpacked 2017’, and you can read more about it here. That being said, the Galaxy S8 is probably not the only smartphone that will launch on March 29, Samsung will almost certainly release the Galaxy S8 Plus as well, at least that’s what rumors and leaks have been suggesting for weeks now.

The Galaxy S8 will be made out of metal and glass, while it will sport a curved display, and very thin bezels all around. The device will likely ship with a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED panel, and a fingerprint scanner will be placed on the back of the device. The Galaxy S8 will feature a dedicated ‘Bixby AI’ button on the left, and the device will come with Android Nougat out of the box, on top of which you’ll be able to find Samsung’s very own UI. Samsung is allegedly planning to include some sort of a facial recognition technology in the Galaxy S8, while an iris scanner will also be included in the package.
