Snapchat is one of the most popular image and video messaging apps out there, and one of the most popular apps in the Google Play Store. This app has been downloaded somewhere in between 500 million and 1 billion times from the Google Play Store at the time of writing this article, and has over 11 million reviews. That being said, pretty much everyone has heard of this app, and quite a few people use it. Well, for those of you who didn’t know this already, there are quite a few third-party Snapchat-related apps out there, in addition to Snap’s official app, of course. We’ve checked out quite a few of them and have hand-picked the ones we liked most, though do keep in mind that we’re listing only the apps that are available from the Google Play Store here, there are quite a few third-party Snapchat apps out there that have been removed from the Google Play Store (all third-party Snapchat clients, basically). In any case, keep in mind that the apps down below are not listed in any specific order, and these are only our picks. Having that in mind, let’s get started.
Snapchat
This is the official Snapchat app, and considering the fact that third-party Snapchat clients are not available, at least not in the Google Play Store, this is the app you’ll need to install if you’d like to access the service. That being said, this app allows you to send your images and videos to other people, and also make them quite fun in the process through a number of filters, stickers, and so on. You can also chat with your friends, discover new Snapchat ‘Stories’, and so on. Snapchat evolved quite a bit since it was launched, and has turned into a really popular, and fun app.
Bitmoji – Your Personal Emoji
Bitmoji is a third-party application which can be used in collaboration with your main Snapchat application, just in case you’d like to create your own stickers and what not, in order to use them via Snapchat. In order to utilize some of those emojis, you’ll need to click the gear icon in Snapchat settings, select the Bitmoji app, and after that connect Bitmoji with Snapchat. Needless to say, you’ll need to have both apps installed on your smartphone.
SnapWow
SnapWow app is not exactly directly connected to Snapchat, but it allows you to create Snapchat-like filters. In case you’re enjoying Snapchat’s filters, then you’ll probably love this app, as it gives you quite a few options in that regard. You can create your very own filters which you can then use with a real-time preview on your camera, while you’re moving your face. Quite neat, isn’t it? This app is completely free to use, though ads are included here.
Casper – Friends on Snapchat
This app essentially lets you add Snapchat users as friends. There is no limitation as to how many friends you can get, and as you’re adding friends you’re earning coins. Your profile is displayed only to your friends, people you opt to add as you friends, that is, and there are several additional options within the app you can take advantage of. This app contains ads and in-app purchases, just so you know, it’s free to use, though.
Face Camera-Snappy Photo
Snappy Photo is yet another application that is not directly connected with Snapchat, but it offers you a chance to use really nice filters, in real time through the camera. In addition to that, you can share your snaps, videos, and even swap a face with your friend that is willing to stand next to you. This application is really well designed, people seem to like it, and it comes with quite a few features on the inside.
InstaBeauty -Makeup Selfie Cam
This application is quite probably the most distant from Snapchat of all the apps on this list, but can be quite useful if you’d like to beautify your photo before sharing it via Snapchat. InstaBeauty app is a great photo editor which puts focus on your face, as there are a ton of filters, stickers, and other features you can apply here, including features like ‘teeth whitening’, which can improve your image. This app is filled with such features, and if you’d like to try it out, feel free to do so, it’s free to use even though ads are a part of the experience, and so are in-app purchases.
Free Snapchat Tips
Snapchat has evolved quite a bit since it was first launched, and can be quite cumbersome to use for some people. That’s where Snapchat guides can be quite useful, like this one, for example. Free Snapchat Tips is an app which can explain Snapchat (and its features) to you in quite a bit of detail, and if you’d like to get an elderly person to use this app for some reason, or you have a friend who is rather clueless that needs help with the app, tell him to install this app and see if it helps.
Guide For SnapChatting
This application is actually quite similar to ‘Free Snapchat Tips’, as it includes detailed instructions as to how to achieve something within the app. This app will tell you how to post to Snapchat Stories, how to reply to messages, etc. Video tutorials are included here, and the app also reveals some hidden tips. This app is not all that popular, but a couple of thousand people who are using it seem to be satisfied with it, as it’s currently holding a 4.5-star rating in the Google Play Store.
New Yellow For Snapchat
New Yellow For Snapchat is a rather unknown app, it hasn’t been downloaded that many times, but it currently holds a 5-star rating in the Google Play Store. This app will essentially let you find some new Snapchat friends, and add them to your list. In addition to that, it offers quite a few options if you’d like to chat with them, and generally have a good time within the app. This app is free to use, though it contains ads, so keep that in mind.
Selfie Snapchat Photo Effect
This app is quite similar to some other apps we’ve listed that allow you to use various Snapchat-like filters in collaboration with the camera. You can create some really nice-looking selfies using filters provided here, as there are a ton of options for you to choose from. This application is free to use, and it’s well-designed, though do keep in mind that it contains ads, just in case you’re bothered by that.
