The Nokia 6 is the pinnacle of Nokia’s new efforts
Nokia’s return to mobile phones isn’t beginning with the Nokia 6, as it isn’t the only device their launching in the near future, but the Nokia 6 is the pinnacle of Nokia’s new efforts as it’s the high-end device of the bunch when it comes to their collection of Android offerings. What better way for Nokia to really show that they mean business when it comes to carving out a place in the Android mobile device market as the Nokia 6 is not only sporting some pretty decent hardware in the specs department, but it also has a great design that is eye catching and comfortable to hold in the hand.
Now, the Nokia 6 isn’t a new device in the sense that it was announced at Mobile World Congress, because it was actually announced earlier this year and has been officially available in China for a little while now, but nonetheless it was still the best device that Nokia had to show off at the event and with good reason. The Nokia 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and it comes paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. Nokia also offers the device in a 3GB RAM model which comes with half the storage at 32GB. While the Snapdragon 430 may not be the most powerful CPU on the market, this didn’t take away from the feel of the fluidity that is offered by the phone as it didn’t seem to have any trouble with tasks whatsoever when using it. In fact, it was actually a very smooth experience and one that is likely to be enjoyable by many consumers.
In addition to the above-mentioned specs, the Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch display that carries a resolution of 1920 x 1280 which is perfect for a device with this particular processor. The 3,000mAh battery also adds to the overall charm of the phone and certainly makes a case for the functional usefulness that’s on offer here as users should notice pretty decent battery life. It also doesn’t hurt that the phone just generally looks very stylish and that it comes running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat which is the most up to date version of Android software that’s available, meaning that consumers who do pick this up won’t be left behind on features or functionality when it comes to Android specific abilities, like multi-window and app shortcuts. During our time getting to check this device out at the show this past week, the Nokia 6 just felt like a quality smartphone that isn’t boasting anything over the top that isn’t needed by the average consumer, yet it didn’t feel like it was skimping on anything either. From the 8-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear camera to the use of a metal frame and glass back panel, the Nokia 6 is just a well-rounded device that consumers will be lucky to have available once the launch is global. Add to that Nokia’s decision to offer the phone in multiple colors so that consumers have a little bit of choice on the personalization front, and the Nokia 6 is likely to be a popular phone once it’s more widely available. All these positive factors of the device are reasons why it was chosen for the Best of MWC 2017 award.
