Boomerang brings classic cartoon streaming at $5 a month, allowing access to some of your favorite cartoons like Scooby-Doo!, Looney Tunes, and Tom and Jerry. While the app allows you to stream on your device there doesn’t seem to be any support for Chromecast so you won’t be able to cast the show to the big screen, at least not with official Chromecast support. You could however cast your device screen which would work in a roundabout way if you’re looking to stream on the TV so everyone can watch more comfortably. That being said, Boomerang is also supposed to be launching for devices like Amazon Fire TV and Roku, so there will be other options for watching on the big screen soon enough. Unfortunately there is no mention of Android TV yet.
Boomerang offers up thousands of episodes of cartoons across the different franchises, and you’ll even find movies featuring some of the different series. The app looks fairly easy to navigate and you can browse through shows on the home page under top shows, shows that are new and exclusive, popular movies, or you can even search through playlists. There are also dedicated pages for just TV shows and just movies.
The monthly cost may be $5 a month but there is also an option to pay annually which costs $40 a year, and if you pick this option your trial period of the app gets extended from a 7-day free trial to test out the service all the way up to 30 days, giving you plenty of time to check out whether or not it’s a subscription you’ll want to keep. The best part about Boomerang for those who hate ads is that there are absolutely no commercials, so you can simply watch as many cartoons as you want and never be interrupted. There is already loads of content available to watch right from the get go but there will also be new content added in on a weekly basis so you’ll always have something to check out, and subscribing gets you access to the both the app as well as the website so you can also watch on desktop if you prefer.
