Xiaomi had introduced the Redmi Note 4X last month, in February, and a new variant of that phone just surfaced on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) it seems. Now, this new variant of the device carries the MBT6A5 model number, and it is more powerful than the regular variant which was announced last month. This new variant of the device comes with a deca-core SoC and 4GB of RAM, while it retains the same look as the original Redmi Note 4X. That being said, let’s see what this phone has to offer, shall we.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is made out of metal, and it comes with three capacitive buttons below the display. This phone does not exactly offer thin bezels, but that’s something we’re used to in this smartphone category. The power / lock, volume up and volume down buttons are placed on the right-hand side of the Redmi Note 4X, and the device’s fingerprint scanner is placed on the back, while the dual-LED, dual-tone flash lies above it, right below the rear-facing camera snapper. The Redmi Note 4X comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by a deca-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz, and we’re probably looking at the Helio X20 SoC here, though its clock frequently seems to be lowered from 2.1GHz to 2.0GHz in this case.
A 13-megapixel camera is placed on the back of this smartphone, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available on the front side of the device. A 4,000mAh non-removable battery is also a part of the package, and the device comes in Gold, Gray, Silver, White, Black, Pink, Champagne Gold, Frosted Black, Dark Gray and Cherry Blossom color variants, at least according to TENAA. The Redmi Note 4X measures 151 x 76 x 8.35mm, while it weighs 175 grams, in case you were wondering. As you can see, this smartphone is essentially identical to the regular Redmi Note 4X model, except it comes with a more powerful SoC, and more RAM. It is also worth nothing that the Redmi Note 4X looks identical to the Redmi Note 4.
