Galaxy S8 Teaser Was The Most Watched Brand Video Last Week

The Galaxy S8 teaser that Samsung aired during the latest iteration of Mobile World Congress (MWC) was the most watched corporate brand video last week, a study conducted by Visible Measures indicates, as reported by Business Korea. The video teasing the successor to the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge quickly went viral after Samsung released it and created a significant amount of buzz online, so the company’s upcoming Android flagship is currently being promoted through word of mouth all over the world. The teaser video hinting at the Galaxy S8 was watched approximately 26.6 million times last week, making it the most watched corporate video in the world during the same period. The video that can be seen below was published by several YouTube accounts owned by Samsung and was also distributed through other platforms. While the teaser doesn’t show much, it confirms that the South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer will officially announce its latest flagship on March 29.

The Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch QHD+ display panel whose screen size will probably be somewhat smaller after its rounded display corners are accounted for. The device will likely be powered by the Exynos 8895 system-on-chip (SoC) in most parts of the world, while the U.S. variant will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. Both models will allegedly sport 4GB of RAM and at least 64GB of internal storage. The larger variant of the device will reportedly be called the Galaxy S8 Plus, ship with a 6.2-inch QHD+ display, and be powered by a 3,500mAh battery. Both handsets will be resistant to dust particles and water, feature an iris scanner, and ship with a new voice-enabled AI assistant called Bixby.

The Seoul-based smartphone maker will debut the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus in New York City on the aforementioned date. There’s still no word on how much the phones will cost or when exactly they’ll launch, but previous reports suggest that Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus should be available for purchase in some parts of the world by the second half of April. In any case, more details on Samsung’s upcoming flagship duo will follow soon.
