HTC has published their Sense Companion app to the Play Store recently which will give other HTC device owners the ability to have the same experiences as those who own one of the recently announced HTC U devices. Sense Companion launched on both the HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play, and now it looks like HTC wants to make the capabilities of Sense Companion available to other HTC users as well. HTC doesn’t list the exact device compatibility for the app, but it should work with most current HTC devices including the likes of the HTC 10, One M9 and others.
HTC’s Sense Companion app is sort of the answer from HTC to things like Google Assistant, Siri, and other similar applications. It’s a personal companion that is designed to learn from you in various ways to recommend personalized suggestions and give you information that is relevant to the way you use your device, whether that be giving you a recommendation on a place to eat or sending out some suggestions on new and undiscovered places to visit based on your location and places you’ve been. Sense Companion learns from you over time so it gets better with age, meaning you should still have a decent experience with it in the beginning but it will definitely be better once it gets to know you a little bit more.
While there are sure to be loads of useful functions that HTC Sense Companion will be capable of, there are some things which users may not be expecting from it. For instance, it has the ability to recommend you charge your device at certain times if it senses that your battery power is low and it knows you might have an event to go to that will run late. This could be a perfect if you’re someone who forgets to charge their device and needs friendly reminders like this. It can even show you things like your weekly step count summary and for each piece of information it puts up on the screen it will let you give it a thumbs up or thumbs down based on how helpful the suggestion was, that way you can further personalize the future experiences and suggestions that it gives you. If you have an HTC device, you can try installing it now and get started with using it.
