The latest Talon for Twitter update brings big visual changes and big really is kind of an understatement as the UI appears to have been overhauled as part of the bump to version 6.0. While visual changes are probably going to be the first things that people notice, there are quite a few new changes that will excite fans of Talon and even those who may choose to use it for the first time following this update.
In regards to the visual changes, there have been some pretty sweeping UI updates but not to the entirety of the app. According to the changelog the UI updates were made to the layouts for tweets and profiles, which means the feed itself should still look pretty much like it did before. That being said, this isn’t a bad thing as Talon allows users to add custom themes and there are plenty of color choices to pick from so you can personalize things just the way you want, and this makes Talon a lot more eye catching than the standard Twitter app. If you use Twitter often enough and you frequently respond to and have conversations with other users, it’s now possible to view those conversations within tweets instead of just within replies like before which should give users a better overview of conversations as a whole.
If you value having as much control as possible over even the smallest details, there are now some advanced filtering options that have been added in for your tweets and your interactions on user profiles. Additionally you can also see user lists on their profiles as well. beyond these new features the rest of the changes seem to be centered around improvements to the app to optimize the experience. Swipe-to-close on images, the compose screen, and the article viewer have all been improved in this update and should perform better and be more enjoyable to use. The changelog also mentions that the app is faster, so overall, scrolling through your feeds and replying to comments, looking at pictures, or doing anything should have more a general quickness to them than before.
