It seems like every year a few top rated smartphones get the golden touch, and this year it looks like the Huawei P10 is receiving a 24k gold Dragon treatment from Legend. This company is well known for offering up limit edition items gilded in gold, whether it is a smartphone, smartwatch, or a tablet. The phone itself is the flagship Huawei P10, but Legend adds a plating with a thick coating of 24k gold that has an emblazoned gold dragon with eyes made from precious red diamonds, and together they symbolize the “fire element.” If you would like one of these custom smartphones, be sure to place your order early as they are scheduled to make only eight of these beauties and each one has “Handcrafted in Finland” and lists them as 1/8, 2/8, etc.
Because each phone is made to order, the buyer can choose the plating from 24k Gold, Platinum, or Rose Gold. The buyer may also pick from a selection of exotic leathers for the carrying pouch, the design of the dragon, the precious gems used for the eyes, among other things. The customized smartphone arrives in a luxurious wooden box and includes a special certificate and warranty cards. The price can run from about $2,900 to $3,030 USD depending on the options you choose for your customized Huawei P10. The Huawei P10 is already a first class device made from metal with touches of iPhone in its design and a variety of colors. It is an all-around beautiful looking device, although it does have rather large top and bottom bezels. It measures in at 145.3 x 69.3 x 7 mm weighs in at 145 grams, but this is before the gold plating so expect your customized Legend P10 to weigh more.
It sports a 5.1-inch LCD display with a Full HD resolution and 1920 x 1080 pixels and 432 pixels-per-inch (PPI). The brain comes from a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz with a Mali-G71 MP8 to handle the graphics. It packs 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of expandable internal memory. The P10 has a dual primary camera with a 20MP and a 12MP lens by Leica optics with PDAF and Laser Autofocus, OIS, and a dual-tone LED Flash. The front-facing camera (FFC) is 8MP for social media selfies and video chatting. It has the usual suspects – WiFi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC, a reversible Type-C port for charging and data transfer. It has a 3200mAh non-removable battery with fast charging capabilities. The P1- has a front-mounted fingerprint sensor for unlocking the device or for mobile payments. The P10 is a GSM device, so it will only work on AT&T or T-Mobile as an unlocked version. So far, the Huawei P10 is not slated for release in the US.
