OnePlus is starting sales of its Midnight Black limited edition OnePlus 3T on March 28 at 12:00 a.m EDT, noting that the latest variant of its new smartphone will be sold on its official OnePlus.net website. The Chinese device maker said that each Midnight Black edition of the OnePlus 3T was “time-consuming” to make, which is why very few of them are actually available for purchase. Therefore, customers interested in grabbing the Midnight Black OnePlus 3T will need to act quickly and grab the device that’s only available with 128GB of internal storage for $479.
The Midnight Black OnePlus 3T is basically the OnePlus 3T Colette Edition without the Colette branding on its back. OnePlus partnered with fashion retailer Colette for this phone in order to celebrate the boutique’s 20th anniversary. Last week, 250 units became available for purchase from a pop-up Colette shop in Paris, France. Since it was practically impossible for most OnePlus enthusiasts to make travel plans to Paris on such short notice, most of them were quite pleased when the Chinese device maker announced the Midnight Black variant of the handset will also be sold through its website. It’s currently unclear how many units of the latest limited edition of the OnePlus 3T will be available for purchase tomorrow, but more information on the matter will likely follow soon.
Apart from the black box and a new paint job, the Midnight Black OnePlus 3T remains exactly the same as the model released back in November. That means you’ll get a smartphone with a 5.5-inch display and a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, featuring the Snapdragon 821 system-on-chip (SoC). The device also ships with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. In the photography department, the OnePlus 3T has a 16MP main camera with an aperture of f/2.0, phase detection autofocus, optical image stabilization, and an LED flash, as well as a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The phone features a fingerprint scanner and a non-removable 3,400mAh battery. While the OnePlus 3T was released with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the handset was already updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat, in addition to receiving the Google Assistant.
