According to a new rumor which surfaced in China, Nokia might announce their flagship Android smartphone in June. Nokia actually introduced three Android-based smartphones during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, two of which are brand new, the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. In addition to that, Nokia also re-introduced the Nokia 6 for the global market, and also announced a brand new Nokia 3310 phone as an homage for their legendary Nokia 3310 cellphone, which is probably the company’s most recognizable device ever.
Some people expected the company’s flagship to land during MWC 2017 as well, but that did not happen. Nokia could launch their high-end offering in June, if the Chinese media is to be believed. According to the provided info, the company’s flagship smartphone will be made out of metal, and will also ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is their most powerful chip at the moment. Nokia is reportedly planning to release two flagship devices, those two phones will probably be more or less identical, though they will be different in terms of size, in order to cater to a wide range of consumers, no matter if they like smaller or larger devices. According to the source, Nokia will also launch two RAM variants of the device, one will ship with 4GB of RAM, while the other will come with 6GB of RAM. Now, we do not know if these RAM variants are tied to different sizes of the device, that part is not all that clear.
Furthermore, Nokia’s upcoming flagship will, allegedly, ship with a dual camera setup on the back, and won’t feature Zeiss camera tech, and don’t expect PureView either. At least one of the sensors on the back will be quite large, a 23-megapixel camera has been mentioned, though there’s a possibility we might see an even larger sensor than that. The smaller Nokia flagship is rumored to cost $580 in China, while the larger variant could cost $650. The source revealed quite a few info when it comes to Nokia’s upcoming flagship, though we still don’t know how legit is this info, so take it with a grain of salt, as it’s usually the case with such rumors.
