OnePlus has this week announced the launch of a new program, dubbed the ‘MP Early Access Program.’ This is a very limited program and only open to owners of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones, as it is designed to limit the effect of bugs on future releases of its own tweaked version of Android, OxygenOS. In many ways, this is actually an extension of the already-available beta program, but one which looks to provide select users with an even earlier and less polished version of OxygenOS.
In doing so, OnePlus is hoping that these select testers will be able to provide detailed information on how the early OxygenOS version runs and operates. With a view to ironing out any potential bugs that might have been missed during the company’s own testing rounds. With OnePlus already offering beta versions of its OxygenOS, the general premise seems to be to ensure that even the beta version is a smooth as it can be when it rolls out – let alone the actual general release version.
As mentioned, the availability of this program is extremely limited with OnePlus noting that only a maximum of 150 people can partake in the MP Early Access Program. As a result, there is every chance that spaces will fill up quickly, if they have not already. However, if you would like to chance your luck and see if you can join the early access program, then once you head through the link below you will have to fill out a form and answer a few basic questions, including where you are located, which OnePlus device you own, whether you are willing to modify your phone’s software, and so forth. It is also worth pointing out that you will need to sign an NDA and have access to Slack – as Slack seems to be the forum OnePlus is using for feedback on any noted bugs and issues with the early version. You will of course, also need to own either the OnePlus 3 or the 3T, and it seems, be located in either the US, the EU, or India. More details through the link below.
