Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are rumored to start at €799, which, if correct, means that the U.S. cost could be just a little bit higher than that, although there is always the possibility that Samsung will look to keep the prices the same in a USD amount. According to the rumor, the Galaxy S8 will cost €799 in Europe while the Galaxy S8+ will cost €899, both of which are not too far off from the prices of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge from last year. In addition to the rumored pricing, colors for both devices have also been rumored.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are said to be getting a release in the same three colors at launch, which will include Black, Silver, and Violet when the phones hit retail stores and online. Compared to last year with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, which both received some of the same colors but also one color that was unique to each model, it seems Samsung may be doing things a bit different this time around. Having said that, only three colors have been mentioned here and there’s no indication that Samsung won’t release a unique color to each model of the device.
As noted in the rumor, the details are coming from an unnamed EU retailer so it’s certainly possible that some information may be incorrect or it could change by the time both devices launch, which is now said to have been pushed back to April 28th. Availability of course could be different for the EU, and the prices will of course vary by each region so €799 and €899 are not necessarily the prices that should be expected everywhere, as is the case with any new device launch. Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at their Unpacked event at the end of this month on March 29th, so the reveal of the device and details like color should be revealed officially in the next few weeks, though pricing and availability will likely not be announced during this event as it those things tend to be announced by region and retailer
