A new Xiaomi Mi 6 rumor has just surfaced in China. An anonymous source revealed that the company’s new flagship will be announced next month, quite probably on April 16th. In addition to that, the source also said that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Qualcomm’s most powerful chip at the moment. The Snapdragon 835 in the Xiaomi Mi 6 will not be underclocked, at least if the source is to be believed, contrary to what some previous rumors have been reporting.
Now, in addition to all that, Xiaomi Mi 6’s partial specs and pricing have also been revealed. The device will, reportedly, sport a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it, and both glass and ceramic variants will be available, same as last year with the Xiaomi Mi 5. The device will sport a camera sensor similar to the one you’ll find in the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, if the source is to be believed, and its pricing will start at 1,999 Yuan ($290) The 4GB RAM + 32GB storage model will, allegedly, cost 1,999 Yuan ($290), while the more powerful variant with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a ceramic body will be priced at 2,500 Yuan ($362). If this info is accurate, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be quite affordable, as the Xiaomi Mi 5 was last year, which are always good news for consumers. That is pretty much it everything the source had to say, and it’s quite a lot of info, but we cannot confirm how accurate it is, though, so take this with a grain of salt.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been a subject of rumors and leaks for a long time now. The phone will, allegedly, resemble the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 as far as the design is concerned, though recent leaks don’t exactly agree with that. In any case, you can also expect this device to ship with Android Nougat out of the box, and on top of it, you’ll get Xiaomi’s very own Android-based skin, MIUI 8 OS. That is more or less it, the company released two new devices in the last couple of days, and their very first processor, and it seems like their new flagship will follow soon as well, stay tuned.
