According to a new rumor that surfaced in China, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will be considerably more immersive than its predecessor, as the rumor claims the device will ship with a curved AMOLED display, and a 93% screen-to-body ratio. For those of you who don’t know, the original Xiaomi Mi MIX features a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, and it’s possible that it’s at the very top of the food chain in that regard.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX was introduced back in October next to the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and it managed to surprise quite a few people. The Xiaomi Mi MIX is a different smartphone, this phablet comes with a 6.4-inch display, and has no bezel on its sides, or above the display, only a relatively thin chin below the display. This device is made out of ceramic, and it looks really sleek and different. That being said, the Xiaomi Mi MIX is not the best smartphone out there, as its call quality isn’t the best due to the lack of an earpiece, and also its camera could be better, which is something we’ve managed to notice when we reviewed this phablet, but this phone was not supposed to be the best around. The Xiaomi Mi MIX is a concept smartphone, first of its kind, and it managed to achieve its goal, present something new and make people wonder what’s next. Well, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is coming, as the company’s CEO confirmed last year.
If rumors are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will be a very interesting smartphone, not only will it ship with a 93% screen-to-body ratio, as the latest rumor claims, but it is also expected to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner by Goodix. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will also ship without physical buttons, according to the company’s CEO, which is also quite interesting. In any case, this phone is expected to land in Q4 this year, so we won’t be seeing it out in the market anytime soon, but it sure seems like it will be an interesting smartphone. Do stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as more info surfaces, as per usual.
