Two Samsung Galaxy S8 back panels have just surfaced. If you take a look at the images down below, you’ll get to see the Silver and Black back panels of the company’s upcoming flagship. These two images go hand-in-hand with the phone leaks we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks. As you can see, there are four cutouts on this back panel, and glass is applied on top of plastic, presumably, as the outer part will be made out of glass, and we presume that plastic is on the inside.
The largest cutout on this back panel is for the camera, of course, while the second largest belongs to the fingerprint scanner. Now, on the other side, you’ll get to see two smaller holes which are reserved for the phone’s LED flash, and a heart rate sensor, presumably. The company’s logo is placed on this back cover as well, as you can see, and the panel itself is curved, so that it fits in your hand better. That is pretty much it, these back panels don’t really reveal all that much info, at least not anything new. It’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to sport identical back covers, but the back cover on the ‘Plus’ model will be considerably larger, of course, as the phone is expected to sport a 6.2-inch display, compared to the Galaxy S8’s 5.8-inch panel. Do keep in mind that these are all rumors at this point, Samsung did not confirm display sizes for these two handsets.
Speaking of confirmations, the company did confirm that they’ll host an Unpacked event on March 29. The Galaxy S8 will be announced during that event, and along with it, the Galaxy S8 Plus as well, presumably. The Galaxy S8 will be made out of metal and glass, and will sport a curved QHD Super AMOLED display up front. The Snapdragon 835 SoC will fuel the Galaxy S8 in some markets, while the Exynos 8895 will ship in some other markets. Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the Galaxy S8, and on top of it, you’ll get the company’s custom UI, of course. The Galaxy S8 will sport on-screen buttons this time around, as Samsung opted to ditch the physical home key in order to trim down bezels of the Galaxy S8, and based on initial reactions to Galaxy S8 leaks, that’s a good thing.
