The latest software update for the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL on Verizon’s network pushes the build number to “NOF27B” and includes Google’s latest Android security fixes published by the tech giant yesterday, March 6. Aside from the security patches, Verizon’s own changelog for the latest release suggests that people who are experiencing poor call quality when using the Honda Bluetooth Carkit should now have a better user experience. The latest Android Security Update for the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL will be distributed gradually, so it may be a while before you receive a notification telling you that the package is available for download.
The Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL have been released in the United States last October through the Google Store, as well as through Verizon Wireless, initially the only wireless carrier in the country that was retailing the phones. The handsets were launched in three color options – Very Silver, Quite Black, and Really Blue, with the latter being exclusive to the United States until recently. The Really Blue Google Pixel variant also prompted the creation of an exclusive pair of Really Blue jeans designed by a celebrity fashion designer Christian Cowan after the blue variant of the Google-made flagship duo debuted in the United Kingdom. Regarding specifications, Verizon Wireless’ Google Pixel variants are no different than the rest as they house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 system-on-chip (SoC) featuring a total of four Kryo cores, the Adreno 530 graphics chip, 4GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 128GB of on-board storage. The largest mobile service provider in the U.S. is currently selling the Google Pixel on a two-year contract worth $27.08 per month, whereas the Google Pixel XL is available for 24 monthly installments worth $32.08 each.
