Zombie Gunship Survival will be making its way to Android smartphones and tablets this spring, as a recent announcement trailer revealed that the game is scheduled to debut on the Google Play Store in May. The title is a sequel to a 2011 mobile game called Zombie Gunship which tasked players with taking control of a military aircraft equipped with a thermal camera in which they were supposed to fly around, identify zombies, and blast them to pieces. Publisher Flare Games previously hinted how Zombie Gunship Survival won’t be a radically different game than its predecessor, though it will still feature some novel mechanics.
Apart from launching all kinds of missiles on zombies, Zombie Gunship Survival will also occasionally task you with protecting some survivors of a zombie apocalypse that will get eaten alive if you don’t intervene. Survivors you save can later act as ground troops that will help keep your zombie-killing operation running as you’ll be able to dispatch them to collect resources that can then be used for building and upgrading your weapons. Resources also come in handy when you want to build shelters or an airfield where you’ll be able to keep the remnants of humanity safe from the zombie horde that’s roaming the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Zombie Gunship Survival is already available for download from the Google Play Store in the Philippines where developers are testing the game and preparing their latest title for a global launch that’s approximately two months away. There’s still no word on a firm release date, but that’s probably because one doesn’t exist yet. Beta tests can often uncover some new bugs and issues that have to be fixed before launch so Flare Games is likely playing it safe and not committing to a specific date until it’s certain that Zombie Gunship Survival is ready to be released.
