The Xiaomi Mi 6 was announced two days ago, and first tests have already started surfacing online, like the one we’re here to talk about. The Xiaomi Mi 6, unlike its predecessors, is splashproof, though it does not seem to be waterproof, and first ‘splashproof’ tests have started popping up online. We’ve actually stumbled upon a really interesting ‘splashproof’ test which is unlike anything we’ve seen before, read on.
If you take a look at the video clip down below, you’ll get to see a bulldozer pouring at on of water on the Xiaomi Mi 6. Now, this test is pretty extreme, and completely unnecessary as it does not exactly mimic real life usage, but it’s quite satisfying and fun to watch, at the very least. Spoiler alert, the Xiaomi Mi 6 actually manages to survive this test with flying colors, the phone continued to operate as per usual after a bulldozer dropped a ton of water on it, and this can be considered the ultimate splash test. If the phone can survive this, it surely can handle some rain, or water splashes while you’re washing dishes, or whatever, which is the whole point of having a splash-proof smartphone, isn’t it? For those of you who do not know, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is made out of metal and glass, and the phone actually has plenty to offer in the spec department as well.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, just like its predecessor, and the phone ships with 6GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 6 also packs 64GB / 128GB of native storage, and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor. The device comes with a dual camera setup on the back, and Android Nougat comes pre-installed on this flagship, with the company’s MIUI 8 OS. A 3,350mAh battery is also included in this package, while the device also has two SIM card slots, just like the Xiaomi Mi 5. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was announced in China, and it is rolling out in China first, but the company confirmed that the phone will be released in some regions outside of China as well, though they did not give us any additional info nor a release timeframe, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
