More Google Play Store users are now receiving the “My Apps” feature that the Mountain View-based tech giant has been testing for several months now, Android Police reports. The tab that facilitates the process of managing one’s app library started rolling out more widely in early March, but the functionality still wasn’t available in most parts of the world following that rollout. It’s currently unclear how many new users are now receiving the feature, though it’s possible that the Alphabet-owned company has initiated a worldwide launch. The new functionality is reportedly being distributed as a server-side update and you should be able to access it even if you aren’t running the latest version of the Play Store Android app, provided the tab is already available in your territory. If you still can’t see the feature, try stopping the app from Settings, delete its cache and app data, relaunch it, and wait for it to be automatically updated to the latest version.
The newly introduced user interface can be accessed from the My Apps & Games tab of the Google Play Store that now features separate sections for installed apps, app updates, and beta apps. Additionally, the same tab can now filter through your Library and Family Library. The redesigned Updates interface now supports numerous sorting options that will allow you to quickly locate and update individual apps, as well as access some basic usage data. If you aren’t interested in micromanaging your app updates, the Google Play Store still features the “Update All” button on the top of the new interface, while the old list of every Android app you’ve ever installed is now available by tapping the Library tab.
While the new addition to the Google Play Store reportedly doesn’t require the latest version of the Android app, updating Google’s digital marketplace still can’t hurt your chances of receiving it. The rollout of this feature marks the second significant change to the Google Play Store that occurred today seeing how the Mountain View-based tech giant removed the “Free App Of The Week” section from its online store less than 24 hours ago. More major additions to the Google Play Store are expected to debut in the coming weeks.
