Razer’s Hammerhead V2 earbuds now have a Bluetooth model. The company well-known mostly for their vast selection of gaming related products like gaming mice, mouse pads, headphones, keyboards, and Laptops, has just officially announced the Hammerhead BT, a wireless version of the Hammerhead V2 and V2 Pro In-Ear headphones. The Hammerhead BT In-Ear Headphones come with the same black and green color scheme that loyal Razer fans will be familiar with from all of their other products, and while these new Bluetooth in-ear headphones will look pretty similar to the regular wired models, they do have some slightly updated visual tweaks that Razer has implemented to keep things looking stylish and fresh.
One of the first things consumers might notice are the earbuds themselves. Fans of Razer products will no doubt be familiar with the triple-headed serpent that can be found on all of Razer’s gaming gear, and while these icons are present on the standard Hammerhead V2 and V2 Pro models, the Hammerhead BT kicks things up a notch by adding LEDs into the mix so the serpent lights up a bright green for that satisfying glow. Since these are Bluetooth there is also now a wireless unit that houses the Bluetooth hardware in the middle of the headphone cord that sits halfway between both earbuds, emblazoned with the Razer logo, which can also be used to attach the magnetic clip so the headphones can be worn securely without moving around during activities like running, cycling and more.
The Hammerhead BT supports Bluetooth 4.1 technology and because Razer takes pride in their audio delivery, something which should be apparent by their acquisition of THX, they’ve incorporated Qualcomm’s aptX codec to keep the sound quality up to a particular standard while also providing low latency for the audio. Because these headphones are also Bluetooth they’re perfect for mobile device users who are looking for a good set of headphones that can keep them listening to their favorite music or playing their favorite games while being immersed in the sound, all while staying wireless and on-the-go. Razer boasts the Hammerhead BT will have about 8 hours of battery life on a single charge which should be plenty for most users, and they only take about 2 hours to charge back up to full from a dead battery so topping up when the battery has only been partially drained shouldn’t take very long.
The Razer Hammerhead BT headphones have a frequency response of 20 Hz – 20 kHz, a max input power of 10w, and Razer has used 10 mm Neodymium magnet drivers. The cable length is listed at 2.07 ft. so it should be plenty long enough to wear comfortably, but with the added clip users can ensure they stay in place. They also only weigh about 0.06 pounds so they’re not very heavy and shouldn’t weigh you down during longer times of use. They also feature a mic and an in-line remote on the cord so you can use the headphones for phone calls, and manage playback easily. In addition to the headphones themselves, Razer has thrown in a compact carrying case, a single set of bi-flange eartip attachments for an even more secure fit, and three pairs of the silicon eartips with varying sizes.
