Report: Galaxy S8 Plus Expected To Outsell Galaxy S8

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus became available in Korea and the US last week, and it seems like market researchers are expecting more interest in the Galaxy S8 Plus, which is quite surprising. According to a report released by Yuanta Securities, Samsung is expected to sell 50.4 million Galaxy S8 units this year, and the Galaxy S8 Plus will be in higher demand than its sibling. Yuanta Securities claim that 53.9% of consumers will be interested in the Galaxy S8 Plus, while the remaining 46.3% will purchase the Galaxy S8. This is just a projection, of course, though it means that Samsung might sell 27.1 million Galaxy S8 Plus units. Considering this is just a projection, don’t expect to see that exact numbers when the time comes, but if the info is at least semi-accurate, we might see similar numbers become a reality.

That is more or less all the info that the source shared, but it might come as a surprise to some of you. The Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch display, which would fit more people, one would think, but it seems like people simply love larger displays, as a 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus could attract more consumers. Truth be said, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are not as huge as you might think based on their display sizes, both phones sport an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and they’re quite narrow due to lack of bezel on the sides, which makes them more compact. Initial impressions are quite positive, and based on the amount of pre-orders, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be highly popular this year. Samsung actually received over a million pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 in Korea while the phone was available for a pre-order, and by doing that, it crushed basically all records. This applies to both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, of course, as the two devices, together, amounted to 1 million pre-orders.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are made out of metal and glass, and they’re identical in terms of the design. The two devices are fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, and they pack in 4GB of RAM on the inside, though a 6GB RAM Galaxy S8 Plus is available in Korea. Android Nougat comes pre-installed on the two devices, and on top of it, you’re getting Samsung’s custom UI, of course. If you’d like to know more about the Galaxy S8, follow this link.
