People have been pre-ordering the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus like crazy in Korea, and the company just reached yet another great milestone, one million pre-orders for their new flagship smartphones. Samsung had received 600,000 pre-orders for the two devices in only 5 days since they’ve been made available, and now that number grew to one million, which is actually a new record for a new phone.
Samsung had kicked off the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus pre-orders on April 7, which means that the two devices have been available for a pre-order for 10 days now. That being said, Samsung is very optimistic when it comes to the Galaxy S8 sales, as the company is expecting their new flagships to outsell the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge at some point. The company is expecting to ship about 60 million Galaxy S8 units, in general, and if analysts are to be believed, Samsung might ship 50 million Galaxy S8’s by the end of 2017. Now, the two phones will become available in South Korea (and the US as well) on April 21, which is actually only a couple of days away at this point. It will certainly be interesting to see how many units will Samsung be able to sell before the end of this year, but things are looking very promising for this Korea-based tech giant, that’s for sure.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus were introduced on March 29 during Samsung’s press conference. This Korea-based company decided to host a separate event for the Galaxy S8 handsets, they opted not to announce them during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. In any case, these two phones are made out of metal, and they’re fueled by the Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 SoC, depending on where you purchase your unit. Samsung had included 4GB of RAM on the inside of these two phones, while Android Nougat comes pre-installed on them. The Galaxy S8 sports a curved display, as does the Galaxy S8 Plus, the two phones are basically identical in terms of the design, the only difference here lies in their size.
