The Xiaomi Mi 6’s announcement is only a couple of days away, and the phone’s back cover just surfaced online yet again. This time around we get to take a look at what seems to be a ceramic back cover of the Xiaomi Mi 6, at least based on its reflections. As you can see, there are three cutouts on this back cover, two for the phone’s rear-facing fingerprint scanners, and one for the dual-LED, dual tone flash on the side.
This back cover is curved, as it was on the Xiaomi Mi 6, and it actually resembles a ton of info we’ve seen leak online lately. The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be announced in both glass and ceramic variants (+metal, of course), just like its predecessor, at least if rumors and leaks are to be believed. The phone will be announced the day after tomorrow, April 19, in China, and if the leaked info is to be believed, we’ll get two size variants of Xiaomi’s all-new flagship. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to sport a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, while the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus could arrive with a 5.7-inch fullHD or QHD panel. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel the Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus, while the phone will probably sport a home key below its display. Qualcomm’s Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner is also expected to be included in this package, and two capacitive keys will flank the phone’s home key, as was the case with the Xiaomi Mi 5 as well.
Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the Xiaomi Mi 6 and its larger sibling, while Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS will ship on top of it, as MIUI 9 is not expected to become available until Q3 or Q4 this year. The Xiaomi Mi 6 will probably arrive in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, and it will be quite affordable as well, as was its predecessor. The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be Xiaomi’s flagship, and chances are this will be one of the most popular Xiaomi-branded smartphones this year in terms of sales, Redmi line included, but we’ll see what happens by the end of this year.
